Edelstein & Payne Case Results

Felony marijuana possession reduced to misdemeanor, fine and costs, no probation

January 2022

Client charged with felony possession of cannabis after a traffic stop. Also had a class 1 misdemeanor possession of marijuana pending. We obtained and reviewed video from the stop, and addressed issues with the stop, search, and subsequent charge with the assigned district attorney. Excellent plea bargain resulted- client plead guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana, his other pending misdemeanor charge was DISMISSED, and other pending speeding ticket was dismissed. The best part of it is that we were able to avoid any period of probation- client was sentenced to pay court costs and a fine, totalling a little over $200.

We are pleased with this outcome.
